Universal Expands USDU to Solana, Bringing Regulated USD Liquidity On-Chain
The integration brings USDU's UAE-regulated issuance and reserve framework to Solana, with Aquanow providing global distribution and institutional access.
Universal is bringing USDU, its USD-backed stablecoin, to Solana - expanding access to regulated settlement liquidity across one of the leading blockchain networks, payments, and on-chain financial markets.
The integration will allow users to hold and transfer USDU through Solana’s fast, low-cost and always-on network, supporting digital asset settlement, treasury management and other on-chain workflows.
Juha Viitala, Senior Executive Officer: “Expanding USDU to Solana brings the reach of regulated, USD-denominated liquidity to one of the most active environments for on-chain payments and financial applications. By combining USDU’s UAE regulatory framework with Solana’s high-speed, always-on infrastructure, we are giving eligible institutions greater flexibility in how they access, move and deploy digital dollars on-chain.”
USDU is also the first USD-backed stablecoin registered with the Central Bank of the UAE as a Foreign Payment Token, giving eligible participants a regulated route to USD-denominated liquidity across Solana’s 24/7 network.
Aquanow, USDU’s global distributor, provides the institutional distribution infrastructure connecting eligible participants with USDU across supported markets.
Built for institutional use
USDU is designed for professional and institutional participants seeking a regulated route to USD-denominated digital asset settlement in the UAE and across permitted international markets.
USDU is backed 1:1 by USD reserves and distributed globally by Aquanow. Reserves are independently attested and published each month, providing additional transparency.
Through its distribution infrastructure, Aquanow connects USDU with institutions and professional participants across supported markets, helping bring regulated USD liquidity into the digital asset ecosystem.
The Solana integration adds another layer of reach to this infrastructure, allowing USDU to operate across a broader set of wallets, platforms, and on-chain financial applications.
